Role Purpose

The purpose of the Digital Media Strategist role is to develop plans to drive client’s marketing goals through digital media. The Digital Media Strategist uses data (current and historical), business objectives and goals (across products and lines of business), and overall user experience to make informed recommendations that will have a positive impact on performance. The role further manages the relationship with clients from a digital strategy perspective.

Role Description

· Collaborate with various teams to develop integrated strategies and roadmaps that deliver on specific business objectives, clearly forecasting performance impact – whether for online sales, incrementality, lead generation, experience-driven or any other performance marketing goal.

· Work in collaboration with media and creative teams to ensure strategic thinking translates into creative excellence and paid media executions.

· Allocate, manage and modify budgets for efficient spending on digital channels, tweaking as necessary based on current performance to maximize ROI.

· Monitor trends, best practices and publisher offerings to ensure correct account spend/growth and to identify new opportunities.

· Maintain and optimize audience targeting lists that align with our overarching audience strategy.

· Review and monitor campaign performance, analysing data and providing insights to various teams relating to renewal/upsell opportunities.

· Develop a test and learn plan (using A/B tests, multi variant tests, creative tests etc) to drive new capabilities and innovation.

· Deliver presentations that highlight campaign performance and deliver reporting, insights and recommendations.

· Create custom campaign reports for strategic-level campaigns (this includes monthly, quarterly, and campaign end reports as needed on an account-by-account basis).

· Partner with internal teams during campaign set up phase, initial campaign QA and ongoing campaign health checks.

· Set acquisition and growth targets for marketing teams spread across offline and online channels such as social, search, paid search, mobile, display, etc.

· Identify pain points, scope out new platforms and tools and identify opportunities for performance enhancement.

Qualifications and experience

· Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Media or related

· +5 years’ experience in performance marketing campaign planning, with a proven track record of effectively driving day-to-day tactical execution of the strategy and meeting expectations for channel growth and optimisation

· Experience in ROI and/or CPA optimization techniques

· Experience with consumer research and customer analytics including design, management, interpretation and strategic application

· Experience with audience targeting, dynamic creative optimization (DCO), conversion rate optimization and AB testing

· Experience with performance-based platforms and working with large data sets via data structuring and visualization tools

· Experience with marketing technology vendors such as Google, Meta and TikTok

· Proficiency in MS Office with advanced PPT and Excel skills

· Experience with eCommerce marketing strategies and tactics

· Experience in a retail omnichannel environment - (highly desirable).
